Description
Experience an epic week-long hike along the haute route with husky dogs to accompany you over the mountain peaks from Chamonix to Zermatt. The dogs, alongside a mountain guide, will lead you from the resort of Chamonix through the glaciers, summits and the alpine huts to the Swiss resort of Zermatt. It truly is a breathtaking experience, a fantastic challenge, and a great combination of mountaineering and stunning views.
You really get to bond with the dogs, and these wonderful animals may even carry some of your equipment…but only if you’re nice to them.
What can be expected?
The trip takes between five and seven days, depending on your fitness levels and the weather, and you can expect to reach summit’s of up to 4000m, trekking across mountain peaks, and through ice and snow with the help of husky dogs, crampons and an ice axe, and sleeping in cozy mountain refuge huts.
The six day route starts in Chamonix, and takes you all the way to Zermatt via the refuge Albert 1er, Orny, Les Dix, Vignettes and Berthol.
Five day route starts at les Dix, and takes you to Zermatt via Vignettes, Berthol and Schönbiel.
However, this is not set in stone, and we are open to discussions on changing the route, plus we will always discuss the best route for your level with the guide.
